When it comes to audio, I usually look for a good balance between price, feature set and audio quality. The Edifier XM6BT is the latest speaker that enters our labs, how far does it fare? – find out in this unboxing/review.
Watch the Edifier XM6BT unboxing below.
Starting off with the unboxing, the XM6BT comes in a rather big box.
On taking a closer look, we see the different input methods supported by the speaker.
Going on to the back of the box, we can see a quick overview of the specs of the speaker.
On opening up the box, we find documentations
Also in the box is a 3.5mm to 3.5mm auxiliary cable
And a remote control as well
It comes with two speakers
Also included is the standard sub-woofer.
Taking a look at the right side of the sub-woofer, we can see the buttons to control playback, different kinds of inputs and the bass level controller.
I like the build quality of the Edifier XM6BT, it feels quite sturdy and does not feel cheap at all. Coming to actual audio quality, it favors bass heavy songs. Songs that are heavy on vocals however can sometime be overpowered by the heavy bass.
I found out that using the bass dial to turn the bass down did help when it came to heavy vocals.
Something I discovered after using the Edifier XM6BT for extended periods of time was that the different input had different audio levels. When I used it in Bluetooth mode at a high volume, switching to the aux in introduced a dramatic decrease in volume. I immediately thought I got a defective unit until I tried increasing the volume on the woofer itself.
All in all, the Edifier XM6BT provided a solid performance all throughout the duration of the review. At around RM239/USD59, it strikes a perfect balance between features, price and most importantly audio quality
